Fire Alarms

Requirement

All places of work require a means of alerting staff to an outbreak of fire. The type and extent of the fire alarm system will be largely determined by the fire risk assessment.  Additionally the advice/permission should be sought of the owner, enforcing authority (usually the Fire Brigade) and insurers. Griffin Fire can provide professional guidance on this issue

 Design

Except for very small systems this should not be carried out by the non-specialist.  Most insurers now require fire alarm works to be carried out by members of either BAFE scheme SP203 or Loss Prevention Council LPS1014.  Using these suppliers ensures high quality work which is fully insurer compliant. Griffin Fire are accredited to BAFE scheme SP203 (all modules).

Installation

Griffin Fire provides a highly professional, BAFE scheme accredited service for fire system installation for all types and sizes of building. All fire alarm installation works are carried out in accordance with British Standard BS 5839 and are fully guaranteed.

Maintenance

Fire alarm maintenance must be carried out periodically to suit the requirements of the customer, this is a minimum of twice yearly. Additionally Griffin Fire can cover the obligation of the customer to carry out weekly system testing. Alarm maintenance works are carried out in accordance with BS 5839.
