Fire Extinguishers

 Requirement

The Fire Safety Order (Part 2, paragraph 13 requires that:

(a) the premises are, to the extent that it is appropriate, equipped with appropriate fire-fighting equipment and with fire detectors and alarms; and (b) any  fire-fighting equipment so provided is easily accessible, simple to use and indicated by signs. Provision is usually determined by a fire risk assessment.

 Design

Griffin Fire provide a complete survey, design and specification service for all portable fire fighting equipment. Experienced engineers will ensure customers get a cost-effective, fully compliant solution to their requirements.

 Installation

Griffin Fire extinguishers conform to BS EN3 and are kitemarked accordingly.  Fire extinguishers are guaranteed for five years and, as fire equipment is 'controlled waste', it is illegal for customers to dispose of it without a waste transfer note.  Griffin Fire are registered waste carriers.

 Maintenance

Fire extinguishers must be maintained at least annually in accordance with BS 5306 part 3 2003.  All Griffin Fire engineers are accreditted to BAFE scheme ST104 to ensure complete professionalism and integrity.  A 'Certificate of Inspection' is issued for each completed maintenance visit.

Short-term hire

A comprehensive hire service is available for short duration contracts and special occasions. This covers events such as corporate hire, trade shows, concerts, weddings and many others. These contracts can be from one day to six months. A delivery and collection service is available.

Computerised logs

A unique service provided by Griffin Fire is the computerised logging of all sites at no extra cost to the customer. The log enables the customer to keep a record of equipment as required by law and to ensure that units are not missed at the time of maintenance. In addition the log can be photocopied for the client's own monthly visual inspections. One further advantage is that the logs prevent the customer from being charged for 'phantom' testing a practice increasingly common in this industry.

Rental

Griffin Fire supply new equipment on either an outright purchase basis with a separate maintenance agreement or on a Rental/Maintenance basis where the equipment is rented for either five or ten years inclusive of all maintenance, testing and parts. This is becoming an increasingly popular choice as more organisations and companies wish to operate a fixed budget.
