Types of Fire Sign

Mandatory Mandatory Usually some kind of order e.g. 'Fire door keep locked'. White letters on a blue background
Hazard Hazard Usually warning of hazard or risk.  Triangular with yellow background and black border
Prohibition Prohibition Usually 'Do not' e.g. 'Do not smoke'.  Black pictogram on a white background with red border and diagonal

Escape

e.g. fire exit, push bar to open etc White letters and a moving figure pictogram on a green background Above doors and open spaces: 2 metres to 2.5 metres Height on walls: 1.7 metres to 2.0 metres

Small Fire Exit Sign Code: T Visibility Distance: 17 metres Found in small offices, small shops and factories
Medium Fire Exit Sign Code: K Visibility Distance: 22 metres Found in larger offices, large factories, warehouses and shopping centres
Large Fire Exit Sign Code: J Visibility Distance: 30 metres Found in large warehouses, distribution centres and exhibition halls
